Training Courses

This session will look specifically at what autism is and its impact on children attending our church ministries. With a focus on practical strategies, resources, and behaviour management, we'll discuss how to include and engage all children with the love of Christ.

Focussed on children from 0-11. Can be paired with the ADHD + Church: Kids Work session.

This session explores what autism is and how it can shape the experiences of young people in our churches. Together, we’ll consider some of the key challenges autistic young people face and discuss practical ways to engage with them compassionately — reflecting God’s love in all we do.

Focussed on young people aged 12-18. Can be paired with the ADHD + Church: Youth Work session.

This session will look at what ADHD actually is, taking into account some common misconceptions. We'll spend time discussing strategies, behaviour management and resources which can help us to include and engage ADHD kids in our sessions so that they have assurance that the love of God is for them too!

Focussed on children from 0-11. Can be paired with the Autism + Church: Kids Work session.

This session will develop our understanding of ADHD and how it is often misunderstood. We’ll look at some of the challenges currently facing young ADHDers and look practically at how we can support and engage with them well, in order to clearly demonstrate God’s love.

Focussed on young people aged 12-18. Can be paired with the Autism + Church: Youth Work session.

These workshops offer less upfront training and more group discussion in order to give space to talk in-depth about some of the real-life scenarios that you're currently facing. We'll look together at some of the underlying causes of difficult behaviour, what we can do about it, and how to develop consistent approaches to challenging behaviour.

These workshops can be tailored for creche, kids work or youth work based on your specific needs.

It’s worth remembering that neurodivergence isn’t limited to children and youth - they grow up too!

With that in mind, this session is aimed at EVERYONE in order to better understand so that we can support our neurodivergent church family well. With a focus on autism and ADHD in particular, we’ll look at some of the difficulties church services present, adaptations that could be made, and how we can show God’s love without putting up unnecessary barriers.

Tis the season... of surprises, disguises and general overwhelm! Christmas festivities can be a nightmare for autistic children, so come and be part of the conversation about how we can support them well in this season, and show all kids the wonder of Christmas amidst the chaos.
